A programming puzzle game, but YOU CAN'T TYPE. Navigate and run pre-existing lines of code! Watch out for bugs eating away your program!

PLACED #110 out of 6700 entries in the GMTK game jam 2023!

I recommend buying on Steam, this itch io version is mainly for people that don't use Steam. Buying on Itch will not give you a Steam key!! The Steam version works on Linux and Steam Deck:  https://store.steampowered.com/app/3333330/You_Are_The_Code?utm_source=itch

can bypass gem requirement by memorizing code to increment gem value and using it in user typing levels. it's like a partial unlock all that requires some skill, which is a weird category and therefore I not sure if you would want to address that.

"User typing levels" is still experimental, not sure how I want to integrate it into the gameplay

the game gives this error when i run it

Error: Couldn't load project data at path ".". Is the .pck file missing?

If you've renamed the executable, the associated .pck file should also be renamed to match the executable's name (without the extension).

It seems to work for everyone else, is that right when you start the game? Or did you go into the custom levels and do stuff?

What OS are you on? (mobile isn't supported if you happen to be using that)

Interesting idea, I like this game!

Great concept! Good mood. Took a bit to figure out what I was doing at first. Math1 was... heh.

Pretty good take on a puzzle game
